i tried to sight read, but i’m slow at it, and i also have another problem, how will i be able to place my fingers on the correct key to play the notes if i can sight read fast enough, i mean my pair of eyes can only look at either the sheet music or the keys on the piano,one at at time, if i sight read then how am i gonna know which keys to press out of the 88 keys or if i look down just for a sec or two , wouldnt i lose track of where i am at on the sheet music and ended up pausing the songs by a few seconds here and there?

I remember some1 telling me that i should be playin the bass cleft several times and try to memorize it and then play the treble cleft several times and try to memorize, then put it together and play the whole song. but it’s not workin i suck at memory, i mean i could remember some but forget some part, it is extremely slow and is this even the right method if it takes u a month to learn a song this way?
how does pianist sight read and play at the same time?

Well, I tried marching band and I kinda like it, but I kinda don’t. I love the marching and physical part, but I totally hate the learning the music while standing the whole time part. For one thing, I absolutely suck at sight reading, so that doesn’t help. I also don’t really have many friends that are in it (I’m shy around new people sometimes), and I know that it somewhat looks kinda good on a resume. And also, If I do it, I’ll only have one day free a week- band in the weekdays, and volunteering on saturdays. I’m also planning on taking honors courses. Will band affect my grades? 2 years ago, I stopped playing the piano.

I feel really embarrassed to tell someone I have been playing piano for 6 years…. when I suck.
Maybe, “suck” is a little exaggerated. But I’m no-where near super-good either.
For example, I was considered a “protege” when I was little… because my uncle forced the piano on me. he would show me all these complicated pieces.. and I was forced to memorize them within a week. So I hated it.

But then my uncle’s health deteriorated. and so did my piano skills…
cause there was no one bugging me to play.

I also had a piano teacher at the time. But she didn’t really taught me any music theory. except some the notes.

I guess… I feel a little “cheated”

I mean… I wish someone actually tried to make piano enjoyable to me… and actually taught me well….

All my friends who have been playing for the same amount of time as me…… are much better….
they can memorize music very quickly, sight-read without any effort…
They are like pros.
oh yup.

I don’t really have a question.
I guess I’mm here to rant :/
