kellyclarksonami asked: been playin the violin for 6 years now. i always write Royal School’s exams. ive always passed but my sight-readin is the worst. i alwys jus pass the sight-readin test. I can sight read grade 1/2 pieces but that doesnt help when im doin grade 5 this year. i suppose the main problem y i cant site-read is coz i memorize all my pieces within a month of playing them. i mean when i do my exam i never take my music book with the notes. i always play all three pieces from memory so technically im no longer readin – but i suppose LOADS of people can do that right? so any tips on how to improve this technique?

Cat Luv asked: I am a novice at playing the violin. I played the violin at school, but I feel that I played too slow and I messed up a lot, since I hit wrong strings. Sometimes I have trouble reading the music notes, especially when it’s a fast song. I get very nervous when I played because I am so self-conscious of how I sound like that I really do messed up. Is there any techniques to improve my sight reading skills, as well as boosting up confidence?
