are there any ways to remember the notes above and below the staff? and how to remember what note 3 sharps is or 3 flats is and so on

  2. Learning to Sight Read Music

    To my knowledge there isn’t anything out there to remember the notes above and below the staff, but as for the rest, I’m going to assume you’re talking about key signatures. With flats, remember BEADGCF and sharps are the opposite (FCGDAEB). To determine your key (flat keys) look at the last flat and go back one. (The third flat is A, therefore a piece in three flats is in Eb.) Sharps you move forward 2. (The third sharp is G, and the piece is in A.) I hope this helps!

    well ive been in band for quite some time… i dont know how to remember the flats and sharps. they just eventually engrave in your skull. i cannot help u with the key its in im horrible at that still but just remembering the notes is good enough to play the intrument. even if u have to circle all of the sharps in flats for a while.. sorry if im not helping much. thats just how i did it.
