Can I master music with my crazy ass schedule?

Okay I am very dedicated to music. I play piano (which im desperately trying to master, i dropped the classes since i realized i can read music but the rest needs to come out from me not taught [the only problem i really have is bass sight reading and moving my left hand]), I play drums i can read the music somewhat decent although i can only play basic patterns and grooves. I am learning how to play guitar with lessons once a week, and am thinking of learning violin and trumpet next year.

The problem is I am taking Ap English along with Ap History next year in my junior year, i am scared that i might not have time to practice music at my house with tons of work (i have two band classes in my schedule next year so i can practice in school). It is only those two classes I am really worried about. I am thinking of dropping both AP classes and going to honors but then yet i feel like im cheating myself from reaching my full academic potential. So can someone give me any advice like seriously? It is much needed I have like no sense of direction. I am really dedicated with music i know with time i can make it in the music industry but I would still like to brag how I am doing in school. Any advice would be appreciated. Im only 16 so this is a little hectic to me.

I just graduated from highschool last week with academic honors in AP classes so i know how you feel. I didnt have music to practice in my freetime, but i did have work. I had to work about six hours a day at a restaurant after school almost everyday, so substitute that for practicing music in this senario. But i understand how you feel about not wanting to lower the bar for yourself academically. But what i would do, it think about what you want to do in college and where you want to go to college. Then figure out if the college you are interested in even accepts these credits if you were to pass the test in may. If not, drop to honors, but if they do, ask yourself: Do i really care if i have to take this class in college, or Do i care if i don’t get this credit for college out of the way right now? If you don’t care, move to honors, because idk about your school, but we had weighted gpas based on higher level classes, and honors and ap classes are worth the same, so look into that. But seriously, do what you love, not what you have to do. If you want to have a career in music, you don’t need to know what day every major war in american history started lol. I took ap us history and ap lang my junior year along with work and it almost killed me. That was definately my hardest year, and i’m an A student. That’s really all the advice i can give. Good luck, and remember that highschool is supposed to be fun, so do what you love

Do what you enjoy doing. You’re only a kid once and if you waste your free time doing work for classes you don’t enjoy then simply don’t do them. If you do enjoy those AP subjects then by all means take them, but if you don’t, I would say not to.

Why would give up doing what you love to brag about how you are doing in school? Your grades reflect how much effort you put into it and you would basically be saying, “I would rather put time and effort into something I hate than something I enjoy.”
